Location to town and shops.
No shower only a bath. If you had a front room. The illuminated signage shone in the room. Better curtains or blinds required.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The outside of the Hotel is a little daunting when you first see it but as soon as you get inside it is fine. We will come back!
The outside of the Hotel needs to be smartened up and the name in lights fixed to show it in full
The receptionist was wonderful, booked our restaurant for us and was very helpful.
The room was fine, but the bed had a dip in the middle!
Good access to the harbour and to the car ferry. Good shopping centre nearby. Good hotel to go when travelling with a car. Very good parking facilities, with own garage, though you have to pay extra 13 euro’s for this. Room clean and tidy but dated.
Noisy with the old roof if its windy, bad pillows, wifi cost 10 euros for just 3hrs
friendly and helpful staff, relaxing bar area
room was adequate and right next to the station. A basic but old budget hotel. Had to find somewhere in Calais for ferry ride and planes were not flying.
The bed was two beds put together and a verry small pillow not what I would call a double. very small cooked breakfast for 90+ euros I expected better room and breakfast...... very expensive indeed for this servis......
Excellent location for a stopover in Calais, very close to the eurotunnel terminal and easy to find with lots of parking outside. Rooms were small but clean and perfectly adequate for one night. Staff were very friendly and small lounge bar was very much appreciated for a late beverage. Lock up garage a big benefit if travelling with lots of luggage that you don't want to have to take into the hotel at night.
It was in a good location and was fine for an overnight stay before journeying on.
It has seen better days and looked in need of renovation.
Very friendly and helpful staff; bar area pleasant; room clean and comfortable; and good breakfast.
Outside of Hotel opposite car park does makes hotel look very downmarket - worried when first saw it but pleasantly suprised when inside.
Very convenient for the ferry, close to restaurants. Convenient parking
Breakfast at 11 euros was very expensive especially as the amounts were very limited. The lighting in the rooms. especially the bathrooms was very dim (I found shaving rather difficult). There was the feeling that the Hotel was being rather miserly.
Walking distance from the shopping centre and resturaunts. Only 2.5 miles from the eurotunnel so great for inexperienced right hand side drivers.
Simple accomodation, not for ones seeking luxury. Over priced.
we have stayed at the metropol 3times the staff are very helpful and friendley
Convenuent location in Calais. Excellent garage secure facilities
The Metropol is very easy to find and is not far from Calais centre. The room is comfortable and the beds suited me perfectly. There is free parking outside which I used successfully. The room flat screen tv received all four main tv channels! The shower / tap valve was stuck but reception had got it fixed by the time I got back to the room.
Downsides....no tea making facilities in the room breakfast is overpriced (there are many good cafes around) and wi-fi access is expensive. Secure parking is also expensive. However, this is my second visit and I would certainly visit again.
